What commission does the agency take?
11% (incl GST) on all TV, theatre and feature film work.
16.5% (incl GST) on all commercial, voice over, corporate and/or print work
What experience/pre-requisites does one need to apply?
We expect adult applicants to have undergraduate degrees in the Performing Arts, or extensive industry training/experience. For teenagers and children, experience in independent theatre, or student films are viewed favourably, although not a pre-requisite. CPM does not rep anyone under the age of 6 years.
What sort of commitment is needed to become an actor with CPM?
Castings are often at very short notice. Shoots also tend to be during normal business hours, making the balance between acting and school/uni a challenge for many young performers. Auditions can be hard to come by so despite the lack of time offered, we expect our actors to make every effort to get to their auditions and be prepared. This also requires much dedication from parents of performers under 18 years, so it is best not to seek representation if you are not prepared for this.
What do the actors get paid?
Fees vary significantly depending on the role and the nature of the job. All our performers’ are booked in accordance with union regulations. See the MEAA at www.alliance.org.au for a listing of various Performers’ awards that apply.
How do I join CPM?
Post/email a photo and resume into us. It can take us several weeks to respond, however you will hear from us either way. If your application is of interest to us, you will be invited to attend an audition/interview. Further details will be made available at that time.
Please be aware that we are mindful of representing a cross section of ages, genders, looks, abilities, etc. We often turn down applicants based on their similarity to those we already represent or simply because our energies are already focused on those we currently represent.
